Description

This course features literature from the Age of Old English (Beowulf), the Age of Middle English (The Canterbury Tales by Chaucer), the Age of Early Modern English (Julius Caesar by Shakespeare), and the Age of Modern English (The Rivals by Sheridan and short writings by Dickens). It includes the development of theater in Britain, from Roman Britain to the Royal Shakespeare Company’s 1980 adaptation of Nicholas Nickleby.
